5 Reasons To Visit Singapore In 2017

Since arriving back from holiday last week I have been looking at holidays for next year and it got me thinking that there's a lot of the world that I am yet to see. I am a huge fan of two week all-inclusive beach breaks in the Caribbean but decided to look at other options instead as would really love to do a city break. One destination on my travel bucket list is Singapore. Singapore is an island city-stare off southern Malaysia and apart from being one of the safest places in the world this vibrant city has a ton to offer in attractions and activities. You'll be spoilt for choice.

Here are 5 reasons why you need to visit Singapore in 2017:

1. Tuck into all sorts of local cuisine

Calling all foodies! Singapore is a food paradise and you'll be spoilt for choice with tons of local and international cuisine for you to choose from. For local cuisine and much well-loved favourites go to hawker centres such as Maxwell and Amoy Street and try some of Singapore's well loved signature dishes such as chicken rice, chilli crab, and nasi biryani.

Also be sure to check out food events like the Singapore Food Festival and Food Expo for even more tasty meals and visit Chinatown food court.

2. Many luxury hotels to choose from

There are many places to stay in Singapore to suit every budget. But if you're looking for the best luxury hotels in Singapore then I'd definitely suggest checking out the Fullerton Hotel. The Fullerton is a grand Neo-classical landmark built in 1928 and was gazetted in December 2015 as one of Singapore's National Monument. It's conveniently located close to the Marina Bay area. It is located close to several attractions and amenities and is just a 20 minute ride away from the airport. The hotel also features a rooftop bar and several restaurants that offer an amazing panoramic view of the marina.

3. Shopping

Shop till you drop thanks to Singapores endless shopping options. Orchard Road is the most popular choice of shopping malls amongst locals and tourists however there are other shopping districts like Chinatown and Little India which are worth visiting or the 24-hour Mustafa shopping centre if you wish to avoid the crowds.

4. There's lots to do all year rounds

Being a top tourist destination, Singapore offers a wide variety of exciting activities to cater for all kinds of visitors, whether your visiting with family for fun or on business. For a fun day out visit Universal Studios Singapore, Singapore Zoo, River Safari, Sentosa. The Marina Bay Sands casino and Sands Skypark are worth visiting too. No matter what time of year you visit you will always find something to do with various festivals, art museums and firework display at the end of the year.

5. Has one of the best airports in the world

Whilst many think Singapore has nothing much to offer except for a stopover to other places you will be gratefully surprised. Having said that, Singapore is known for being the best airport in the world giving tourists an enjoyable and hassle-free travel experience. It is a duty-free shopping destination with a wide variety of stores, Changi Airport has many lounges, cinema, transit hotels, a kids play area with a huge slide and even a butterfly garden and nature trail! Whether you have a couple of hours or a day to waste some time there is plenty for everyone to do.

With so many things to do and places to explore, Singapore is a destination which should be on everyone's travel bucket list.

Have you ever considered Singapore for your next holiday?
