For many expecting mums the question of whether to bottle feed or breastfeed is one which can play on your mind. Some mums will know that they want to breastfeed or express, some will be adamant that they are bottle feeding and others will be in two minds and won't decide until after baby has arrived. When I was pregnant with Amelia I didn't think too much about it at all, I didn't do any research and didn't buy any bottles. I ended up giving birth not knowing how I was going to be feeding her but luckily she latched on and we were able to breastfeed. When Harry was born it was a completely different story, I went with the open mind that we would try breastfeeding and if it didn't work out we would bottle feed. I even bought formula and a couple of Dr Browns bottles to put away in the cupboard just in case. We nursed for the first six weeks but he didn't take to it as well as his big sister, my milk dried up and he wasn't getting enough milk so we ended up mix feeding for a while.

We've never tried any other bottles but we love the Dr browns bottles! We've now been using them for the last 5 months and cannot praise them enough! I do however need to buy the next size up and some more teats as he's finally starting to drink more than 4/5oz in one sitting.
Dr Browns are well known for their anti colic bottles which help to reduce colic in younger babies and also help with trapped wind. The bottle is also great for breastfed babies as the bottle contains a patented vent system which provides vacumm-free feeding by reducing the amount of air bubbles in the milk. The bottle collar captures the air and directs it through to the other end of the bottle via the tube allowing your baby to feed without taking the gulps of air which result in wind and colic issues.
To find out more about Dr Browns you can visit their website here and also follow them on Twitter and Facebook to keep up to date with their latest products.
Today we've teamed up with Dr Browns to give away two of their newborn starter gift sets! These sets include everything you need to get started with bottle feeding your newborn baby.
