Family Fun in Liverpool

Liverpool is a city packed with activities and attractions for the whole family, so book a Travelodge and head there for a few days to see what it has to offer your family. Of course we all associate Liverpool with The Beatles, but what does it offer for those young enough not to remember the Fab Four? Take a look:

Underwater Street

This hands on activity centre has so much going on for kids from as young as two years old, that you can easily spend a day there learning, discovering and, most of all, having lots of fun. Split into numerous zones, you'll have a whale of a time working your way through the different areas. There's the art area where the kids (and grown ups!) can try out the huge array of arts and crafts on offer or dig out a favourite costume from the fancy dress box. Next up is the construction area where kids can have fun on their very own construction site - they can build a wooden house, climb the giant scaffold and hunt for fossils at the dino dig. Fab!

At the imagination village children can try their hand at their chosen profession. Maybe they want to present a TV show, have a go at pampering pooches at the doggy salon or serve up a pizza in the pizzeria. With rock walls, balance beams and lots of activity based workshops, the physical zone if the place to burn off some energy. The sensory zone is where you get to crawl through an underground water cave, pan for gold, go fishing, enjoy a light show and identify different smells on the aroma wall. Last but not least is the lab where you can try your hand at scientific experiments. It really is a wonderful place to experience with the children – and educational too!

The Echo Wheel of Liverpool

Similar to The London Eye, the big wheel in Liverpool is situated right outside the ECHO Arena and features 42 capsules affording an amazing view over the city, as well as the Welsh mountains beyond. Kids love being on this huge big wheel, enjoying the sights of the city from a bird’s eye perspective.

Wowballs Liverpool

A hugely popular activity with children are these giant hamster ball type bubbles that allow you to walk on water. You can jump, roll, run and of course stumble your way over the water, laughing all the while. A great treat for all the family.

Other great attractions for kids in Liverpool are Spaceport where you can see what it's like to be an astronaut, Europa Pools where you can enjoy swimming in a tropical lagoon and having fun on the water slides, Rice Lane City Farm where you can enjoy spending time with rare breed animals on the outskirts of the city and New Brighton beach where you can have a whale of the time at the seaside. With all that and more on offer, Liverpool really is a great place to visit with the kids.
