ERGObaby Winter Edition Carrier Review & Giveaway

Yes, I know we are now officially in the summer months but with they typical British weather you can never predict what the next day holds. Last month we were very kindly sent the Ergobaby winter edition baby carrier to test out. I am a huge fan of baby carriers, when Amelia was younger I would much rather pop her in the carrier when popping to the shops or out for a walk instead of pushing around the pushchair. Now that she is older she would much prefer to be running around but it's great to have the carrier in the back of the car incase she gets tired. Luckily she is a petite toddler at 14 months and is still fitting into 9-12 month clothing so this carrier is the perfect size for her.

The carrier we were sent is the White Winter Edition for their designer collection which I am in love with! It has a quilted lining with luxurious sheepskin trim. It's just perfect. I love the colour, even though I am afraid of getting it dirty it's such a lovely warming colour. Its perfect for all types of weather and especially the cold rainy days we get here in the UK and with winter only around the corner its perfect! Ergobaby have many different designs including the original carrier, organic, designer and also travel carriers.

Ergobaby Features:

✓ Comfortable for Parents: Baby’s weight is evenly distributed between the hips and shoulders

✓ Baby is cradled in a natural ergonomic sitting position

✓ 3 Carry Positions: Front, Back and Hip

✓ Baby Weight Range: 7*-45 lb/3.2* – 20 kg (*Newborn with Infant Insert)

✓ Removable quilted muff

✓ Machine washable

✓ Come with a detachable Hood

The good

What I love about this carrier is the fact that you carry your baby's weight on your hips - not your shoulders. We have been for many walks with Amelia in the ERGObaby for hours at a time and it honestly felt like I was just carrying a small backpack. There was no strain on my shoulders at all and it was pretty comfortable. Even Andy agrees! I can even place Amelia in the carrier myself which is a great help if I'm out on my own with her, especially good for doing the food shop.

The ERGObaby carrier is extremely versatile and you can wear your baby facing inwards, on your hip and even on your back. You can carry your toddler as heavy as 45 pounds with this carrier! Although I'm not sure I would want to...but it is great to know that we will get plenty more use out of it over the next year.

I am loving the pocket on the front of the Ergo. It is the perfect size to hold a set of keys and a mobile phone which is great as it means you don't have to carry your bag when out and about.

The carrier comes with a hood which is roomy and there's plenty of air space for your baby. You can easily adjust the hood depending on your child's size. The hood has so many helpful uses, including:

✓ Protecting baby's head from the sun or rain and wind
✓ Helps breastfeed discreetly
✓ Keeps baby hidden from busybodies wanting a sneak peek and disturbing baby
✓ Prevent messy foods from falling on baby's head when eating

I think the hood should be wider to accommodate older babies especially for breastfeeding it would come in handy to keep discreet. Also the chest strap can be rather annoying if you are wearing baby on your back. It was forever riding up my chest towards my neck so I had to keep holding it down. It wasn't too much of a problem but can be slightly discomforting. Other than that I can't fault this baby carrier. We have used it this past month to the beach, the forest, for a few walks down by the lake and at the supermarket and have had no problems with it at all. Amelia seems to like chilling out in it even if she does think its funny to pull at my hair.

The carrier retails at £149/$195 which to some may seem expensive but if you are wanting a reliable carrier that will see you through from birth to toddler then this is the carrier for you. In my eyes its definitely worth it and will keep for baby number two, so well worth the money.

Overall, we are loving the Ergobaby carrier and am glad we still have a bit of use out of it to come, I am also looking forward to being able to use if from birth with baby number two sometime in the future. Hopefully with this nice weather we are having this week we can get out and about. I would highly recommend this baby carrier to any parent looking for a comfortable, reliable baby carrier to support their little ones.

Do you babywear? If so what do you look at when buying a carrier?
